Upgrade your industrial engineering skills through a professional degree program delivered via distance education.  Designed to help you raise your engineering knowledge and practice to the next level, this program includes coursework that provides both breadth and depth in the industrial engineering discipline.  The Master of Industrial Engineering degree requires 30 credit hours of coursework.  You can take up to 3 courses before applying for admission to the program.

   IE 545 Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing
   IE 546 Geometric Variability in Manufacturing
   IE 549 Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing
   IE 588 Information Systems for Manufacturing
   
   Human Factors
   IE 537 Reliability and Safety Engineering
   IE 571 Occupational Biomechanics
   IE 576 Human Factors in Product Design
   IE 577 Human Factors
2. Four additional graduate level courses in Industrial Engineering (from the list above or the course catalog) and continuous registration in IE 501 (graduate seminar one credit/sem)
3. Three courses outside the major (for example, other engineering majors, business, statistics)

Distance Education
Students interact with faculty through a web portal with 24/7 access to lectures, assignments, on-line discussions, and email.  Exams are administered at your location using proctors arranged through the Engineering Distance Education group. Lectures are viewed online or downloaded for viewing at another time.

Applying for Admission
To be considered for admission to the Master of Industrial Engineering program, applicants must have a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or its equivalent from a college, university, or technical school of recognized standing.  Other Bachelor degrees will be considered on an individual basis. In addition, all applicants need to provide GRE scores.  The TOEFL test is required for students whose native language is not English.  High academic achievement or other persuasive evidence of professional accomplishments is expected for admission to the program.
