The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECpE) offers a Masters Degree in Computer Engineering 100% online.  A typical schedule includes one class a semester, allowing students to finish their degree in 5 years.

  • Software Systems

Admission Requirements

Prospective students are encouraged to apply by January 15 for summer and fall admission and Septebmer 15 for spring admission.  Students may take up to 9 credits as a non-degree seeking student, so it is possible to begin your studies before formal admittance into the program.  Admission and application procedures for the Computer Engineering graduate program can be found on the ECpE department page and on the Graduate College website .

Degree Requirements

The Masters of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering consists of a total of 30 credit hours.  Students typically are allowed to transfer up to 6 credit hours of non-ISU graduate credit into their degree program.  More credits may be allowable as long as they have received a grade of B or better and are allowed by the student's Program of Study Committee.  While most off-campus students choose the non-thesis option, a thesis option is available.
